Barcelona have stepped up their pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Rodri,with the Spanish club reportedly submitting an increased £51.4 million bid for the 30-year-old.

Talks between Barcelona and Manchester City are continuing as the Catalan side attempts to secure the Spain international.

Elsewhere,Cristian Romero is reportedly interested in joining Arsenal,but Tottenham have no intention of allowing the 28-year-old Argentina centre-back to move to their north London rivals.

Barcelona are also considering Romero as a defensive option,while Uruguay centre-back Ronald Araujo,27,is reportedly set to join Liverpool on loan.
