AC Milan have added Omari Hutchinson on loan from Nottingham Forest, a move that gives the club attacking reinforcements and leaves Forest temporarily without the forward. The seven-time European champions will evaluate Hutchinson during the campaign and hold an option to make the transfer permanent at season's end.
Hutchinson's switch to the San Siro arrives 12 months after Nottingham Forest completed his transfer from Ipswich Town for £37.5m. He struggled for consistent playing time in his first season at the City Ground, making only 17 Premier League starts under four different managers.
This season Hutchinson's senior minutes for Forest have been minimal, his only action coming in their League Cup defeat by Leeds United. The loan offers the England youth international a chance of regular football at a club with European pedigree, while giving Milan a look at a player with proven youth-level credentials.
Hutchinson progressed through Chelsea's academy before joining Arsenal and signing his first professional contract in 2020. He returned to Stamford Bridge in 2022 and made two appearances for the Blues prior to a move to Ipswich in 2023. Initially a loan signing at Ipswich, his transfer there was made permanent 12 months later after he contributed to their promotion to the Premier League.
On the international stage Hutchinson was part of the England Under-21 side that won the European Championship in 2025. At Milan he will wear the number 20 shirt. The loan runs until the end of the season, when Milan must decide whether to exercise their option, and Nottingham Forest will reassess their forward options following his temporary departure.
