Mohamed Salah will be barred from driving for six months after a court found he failed to identify the driver of his Rolls-Royce following a speeding incident in Wilmslow.
Court documents say the car was recorded by a speed camera at 36mph on a 30mph stretch of road in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on 27 March. Cheshire Police brought the prosecution after no one supplied details of who was behind the wheel when the offence occurred.
The 34-year-old did not respond to the notice of prosecution and did not enter a plea. A magistrate convicted him under the Single Justice Procedure, a process in which magistrates decide cases in private hearings, and imposed a six-month driving disqualification. The hearing took place at Warrington Combined Court and also ordered Salah to pay £1,044.
The conviction recorded the offence as failing to give information that would identify the driver of the vehicle. The case was processed without a contested, public trial because of the Single Justice Procedure used by the court.
The incident happened days after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool on 24 March, ending a nine-year spell with the club. The club said he had "firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool's history." During his time at Anfield Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances. The forward moved to Turkish side Trabzonspor after the 2025-26 season.
