Kia has announced US pricing for the EV3, its compact electric SUV, with the model starting at $29,450 before a $1,495 destination charge.
The $30,945 price including destination is below the $35,000 target Kia outlined when it confirmed plans to bring the EV3 to the US in April.
The EV3 offers up to 321 miles of all-electric range and will be available in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. Its size is close to Kia’s Niro crossover, while incorporating design elements from the larger EV9.
The vehicle includes an NACS port, making it compatible with Tesla’s Supercharger network. Kia says the EV3 can charge from 10% to 80% in about 31 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger.
The EV3 becomes the lowest-priced electric vehicle in Kia’s US line-up at a time when affordable EV options have become more limited.
Several carmakers have retired electric models or cancelled EV plans following the rollback of Biden-era tax credits by the Trump administration in July 2025.
Kia joins a smaller group of manufacturers offering electric vehicles below $30,000. Ford has said its upcoming Fathom electric truck will cost $28,350 and is expected to ship in early 2027.
California also introduced a new EV rebate programme in July, offering first-time buyers an instant $3,500 rebate on new electric vehicles and a $1,500 rebate on used models.
