Europe can reclaim the Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf, as the 20th edition of the biennial contest between Europe and the United States is scheduled for 11-13 September. The meeting in the Netherlands follows the United States' 15½-12½ victory in Virginia two years ago, and Europe arrive with home advantage and more players ranked inside the world top 10 than their opponents.

The competition is named for Karsten and Louise Solheim, who have sponsored the event since its start in 1990. Historically the United States have taken the trophy 11 times, Europe have won seven, and one meeting finished all square, the 14-14 draw at Finca Cortesin in 2023.
Both sides are under new leadership for 2026. Three-time major winner Anna Nordqvist will captain Europe after announcing her retirement as a player in August, and she will be assisted by Caroline Hedwall, Anne van Dam and Mel Reid. Angela Stanford leads the United States side, with Kristy McPherson, Paula Creamer and Brittany Lang named to her backroom team.
Europe's squad includes automatic qualifiers Lottie Woad, Charley Hull, Celine Boutier, Carlota Ciganda, Esther Henseleit, Maja Stark, Linn Grant and Nanna Koerstz Madsen, joined by Leona Maguire, Julia Lopez Ramirez, Nastasia Nadaud and Mimi Rhodes. The United States side features world number one Nelly Korda, who won the Chevron Championship in April and the US Women's Open in June, alongside Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Yealimi Noh, Auston Kim, Lauren Coughlin, Allisen Corpuz, Andrea Lee and Alison Lee, with Megan Khang, Rose Zhang and Lindy Duncan selected as captain's picks.
Play comprises 28 matchplay contests over three days, split between foursomes, fourballs and singles. Each match is worth one point, with half points shared for ties; the first team to 14½ points wins the Cup. As holders, the United States would retain the trophy if the match ended 14-14. The opening sessions will feature foursomes on Friday, and all 24 players contest 12 singles matches on Sunday.
Bernardus Golf is a heathland layout that opened in 2018 and hosted the KLM Open on the DP World Tour from 2021 to 2023. Temperatures are expected to peak around 21C across the three days, but forecasts suggest a strong likelihood of showers and breezy conditions, which will test precision on a course that rewards accuracy.
Broadcast and coverage plans include a preview on Thursday, 10 September, and a program of live text and radio commentary across the tournament days. Friday, 11 September listings include live text from 06:30-17:00, radio updates and 13:00 live radio commentary on Radio 5 Sports Extra 3, plus evening highlights. Saturday and Sunday coverage is scheduled with live text and radio windows, nightly highlights on television, and voice-activated streams for smart speakers labelled by day.
The event will provide the first full test of Europe under Nordqvist's captaincy and of Stanford's US leadership, with both sides aiming to impose styles that will decide who lifts the trophy on Sunday.
