The Rams lost availability at wide receiver on Friday when Puka Nacua was added to the injury report after missing practice with a hip issue, and his backup Jordan Whittington also did not take part because of a quad injury. The absences reduce the number of healthy options at the position during the week.
It is not clear whether Nacua's hip problem is connected to the psoas soreness that sent him off the field during the joint practice with the Cowboys on Aug. 13. The psoas is a deep core muscle and the main hip flexor. Nacua was not on the Week 1 injury report.
Friday's report showed several other roster adjustments. Safety Kamren Kinchens did not practice because of a hamstring problem, while safety Kam Curl was limited with an ankle issue. Inside linebackers Omar Speights and Nate Landman were both limited in practice with hip and shoulder concerns, respectively. Wide receiver Davante Adams returned to practice after taking a scheduled rest day on Thursday.
The combination of Nacua's absence and Whittington's quad issue leaves the Rams with fewer immediate options at receiver for the remainder of the week. The team did not link the new hip listing to the earlier psoas episode in the Friday report, leaving the extent of Nacua's condition unresolved going forward.
