ISWAP's local network suffered fresh disruption as Operation HADIN KAI intensified operations across Borno and Yobe, detaining 15 suspected collaborators and neutralising multiple fighters in recent actions.
An operational report said security forces arrested 11 people in Monguno Local Government Area. Authorities identified eight as suspected collaborators, two as alleged couriers or spies, and one as a suspected terrorist.
In Geidam, troops from 159 Battalion detained three alleged ISWAP logistics suppliers during a curfew operation. Preliminary inquiries linked the suspects to purchases of petroleum products and other supplies routed to fighters around the Gorom-Damasak axis. Troops recovered two mobile phones, a national identity card and ₦185,950.
The report said the air component carried out a precision strike near a known enclave in the Sambisa axis, killing four ISWAP fighters. The strike followed observation of three fighters entering a structure while a fourth parked a motorcycle outside. Forces said the strike destroyed the building and the motorcycle along with the four fighters.
On Aug. 29 troops intercepted two internally displaced minors on the Wala-Gwoza-Pulka Road in Gwoza Local Government Area. Preliminary investigation indicated the children came from Chikide community in the Mandara Mountains.
Separately, a suspected female ISWAP member and her two children surrendered at Mafa. The report said she fled the Burari terrorist enclave after violent clashes between rival militant factions.
Troops also repelled an ISWAP attack on personnel of 212 Battalion stationed at Tungushe in Jere Local Government Area. In Askira-Uba Local Government Area, soldiers from 115 Task Force Battalion working with the Civilian Joint Task Force engaged suspected ISWAP fighters at Rumirigo; the insurgents withdrew and troops recovered a pistol and seven rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The operational report presents a picture of stepped-up pressure across multiple fronts, with arrests, targeted air strikes and ground engagements combining to disrupt militant movements and supply lines in northeastern Nigeria.
