Residents and businesses around Erunwun, Atan and Luba stand to benefit from faster, safer travel as the Stadium Junction-Luba road reaches about 99 percent completion, Governor Dapo Abiodun announced.

The reconstruction, which the governor updated on his official X handle, has moved beyond the asphalt binder stage and is in its final phase ahead of full completion and commissioning.

Abiodun framed the work as a direct intervention in daily life and local commerce, saying, "This level of progress underscores our firm commitment to delivering durable and reliable road infrastructure that directly impacts the daily lives of our people."

He described the corridor as an important route whose upgrade will reduce travel time, improve safety for motorists and strengthen connectivity across neighbouring communities.

The governor tied the project to his wider people-centred development agenda, noting that sustained investment in roads is intended to ease movement and stimulate economic activity. "Our administration remains focused on people-centred development.

Through sustained investment in road infrastructure, we continue to ease movement, stimulate economic activities, and improve the overall quality of life across Ogun State," he said.

The near-completion status signals an imminent shift from construction disruption to renewed mobility and trade for commuters and local businesses. The project now awaits final works and formal commissioning, a step that will test the state’s ability to translate construction milestones into usable infrastructure and measurable economic gains for the communities the road serves.
