Claudia Sulewski and Finneas are married, formalizing an eight-year relationship with a ceremony on August 29 in Montecito. Just under two weeks earlier the bride invited a team to the Oscar de la Renta boutique in Beverly Hills for the final fitting of four custom looks she would wear across the wedding weekend.
The morning began with close family and friends at her side, including her mother Beata Sulewska and her new mother-in-law Maggie Baird. Musicians Rebecca Black and Dru MacDonald joined as friends and witnesses. Oscar de la Renta senior designer Grace McCoy handled final adjustments while stylist Thomas Kikis, whom Sulewski called part of “every step of this journey,” watched from the wings.
The fitting progressed through a rehearsal dinner gown, the ceremony dress, the first-dance and reception gown, and an after-party look. The rehearsal-dinner gown was bias cut in liquid crepe back satin with a draped bias neckline that falls to the low back, an effect that drew audible delight from those present. “You literally look like a sculpture,” Dru told the bride as McCoy refined the silhouette.
The main ceremony gown was an ivory silk faille ballgown, built on a drop-waist bodice and a structured, pleated skirt, finished with an asymmetric, draped and pleated scarf neckpiece that runs the full length of the train. The moment drew a quiet, then spontaneous applause. Sulewski said she had drawn from Oscar de la Renta archives, gravitating toward dramatic, princess-like shapes. They tested a veil designed to sit under her bun and confirmed that the gown included pockets, something the bride called a modern detail.
The reception dress moved to evening energy, a structured cady gown with a sculptural peplum made from upcycled feathers, a choice Sulewski flagged as meaningful given her beauty brand Cyklar is vegan and cruelty-free. Crystal beading threaded through the feathers promised to catch the dance-floor lights. The after-party look referenced early 2000s runway partywear with a fresh boat-neck top rendered in pink, paired with a hand-draped dove grey silk faille bubble skirt and matching grey heels. Sulewski summed up the moment, laughing, “I feel like a little cupcake.”
There was one final reveal that belonged not to the couple but to their two rescue dogs, Peaches and Moose, who were fitted with silk faille bows cut from the ceremony fabric and are slated to walk as flower dogs. With every fitting settled and the last adjustments ready, Sulewski left the boutique ready to turn the fittings into a wedding day, saying, “Let’s go get married!”
