Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed $2 billion in global ticket sales after three weekends in cinemas.

The film has earned $785 million in North America and $1.23 billion internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $2.022 billion.

Starring Tom Holland in his fourth solo outing as Peter Parker, the comic book adventure has joined a small group of films to earn more than $2 billion globally. Only Avengers: Endgame reached the milestone faster, doing so after 11 days.

Brand New Day opened at the end of July with $355 million in North American ticket sales and $932 million worldwide. It crossed $1 billion globally after six days.

The film is already the eighth-highest-grossing worldwide release of all time, according to the report.

Box office watchers are now assessing whether its run could take it beyond $1 billion in North America or towards $3 billion worldwide.
