YouTube will continue to handle global livestream distribution for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival through 2030, the company announced at its Made On YouTube event in New York City. CEO Neal Mohan revealed the renewal onstage, extending the platform's run as the festival's primary broadcast channel for the next several editions. The April 2027 festival will be the 15th year YouTube has carried Coachella.

Over the last decade and a half, YouTube broadened its coverage beyond headline stages, added features such as multiview, and expanded live streaming to both festival weekends, turning the broadcasts into a sizeable technical and editorial operation. The platform has treated Coachella as a major live property, escalating production ambitions to near Super Bowl scale and creating an environment where headline acts now stage sets with large online audiences in mind.

YouTube has also built the festival into a creator destination, giving content-makers access and a place to shape material tied to the live feeds. Artists and their teams factor the livestream into promotional strategy and set design because millions will watch in real time and on demand. Last year Justin Bieber incorporated YouTube videos into his performance, illustrating how a livestream can integrate with stage production.

That role changes how artists value a Coachella slot. Singer Karol G reportedly invested three times what she received for her appearance, treating the booking as an investment in brand growth. "Every artist and their team has to determine what the value is for themselves," UTA agent JBeau Lewis said. "The strategic, savvy artists and their teams see the big picture of how Coachella both in the live experience and the livestream fit into the greater landscape of what they're trying to accomplish."

The extended agreement cements YouTube's influence over how festival sets are produced and monetised for global audiences. For artists and their teams, the deal preserves reach and technical tools that reward productions designed for both in-person and online viewers. For Goldenvoice and festival planners, the renewal delivers a stable worldwide distribution partner through 2030, locking in a known broadcast pathway as they plan future editions.
