The MTV Video Music Awards expanded its performance roster Thursday, adding Lisa, Raye, Shaboozey, Sienna Spiro, GENER8ION, Gunna and Yung Lean to a lineup that already includes Madonna as the show opener. The additions create several first-time televised performances and a world premiere, reshaping the ceremony's musical slate for the live broadcast from Los Angeles on Sept. 27.

Lisa will return to the VMA stage for the television debut of her new single "SaWaDiKa," from an upcoming EP titled Press Play. Her documentary Always Lalisa recently premiered in Toronto, offering behind-the-scenes context as she continues to step out of the K-pop system.

British singer Raye will make her first VMA performance and arrives as a two-time nominee, including a nod in the song of the year category for "Where Is My Husband!" Shaboozey also earns his VMA performance debut with the hit "Cowgirl," and will join Gunna for the first broadcast performance of their collaboration "High Noon."

Sienna Spiro, a first-time nominee up for best new artist, will also perform at the ceremony. GENER8ION and Yung Lean, both first-time nominees, are scheduled to present the world premiere of "Storm II," a set that follows nominations for video of the year, best direction and best choreography.

The ceremony will be hosted by Snoop Dogg and will air live on CBS with a simulcast on MTV. This marks the VMAs' return to Los Angeles for the first time since 2017, when Katy Perry hosted the show at The Forum. The production credits list Gunpowder & Sky as the producer, with Van Toffler serving as producer and Jesse Ignjatovic of Den of Thieves, Barb Bialkowski and Bruce Gillmer among the executive producers. Barry Barclay and Floris Bauer are also listed as executive producers, Melanie Block is co-executive producer and Gary Lanvy serves as co-producer. Snoop Dogg is additionally an executive producer alongside Sara Ramaker and Jasmin Ratansi, and Jen Proctor is the executive talent producer.

Organisers said additional performers, presenters and special guests will be revealed next week, leaving room for further changes to the program before the late-September telecast.
