Portable fans gain native Matter integration and far longer runtime with SwitchBot’s new Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro, priced at $119.99.
SwitchBot removed the height-adjustable stand found on earlier models to focus on a compact, carry-anywhere design. The Fan 2 Pro adds native Matter-over-Wi-Fi, so it can join a smart home without requiring a separate SwitchBot Hub. The unit is built to move air around medium-sized rooms, a balcony, or a family tent, and it includes an integrated nightlight.
The fan packs a 3,600mAh battery that SwitchBot rates for up to 70 hours of cordless operation at its lowest setting, while top speed delivers four hours on max. At low power the fan runs quietly, at 21dB, and it can run longer when plugged into a USB-C power bank or a large power station.
Mechanically the Fan 2 Pro oscillates 90 degrees vertically and horizontally to push air up and around a space. SwitchBot advertises the highest maximum wind velocity among its fans, 6.5 m/s or 21.3 ft/s, and a longest throw distance of 33.5m or 110ft. The new model produces 477 CFM of airflow, slightly less than the 489 CFM of the original Battery Circulator Fan it replaces, but it still outpaces the Standing Circulator Fan at 323 CFM.
The fan’s blades, filter and front and rear housing are fully detachable for cleaning. SwitchBot also emphasizes portability, noting the fan’s compact footprint and the ability to tether it to external power. A UK and European variant will follow with a built-in negative ion generator designed to reduce airborne dust and static electricity. For now, availability is limited to North America.
The Fan 2 Pro strengthens SwitchBot’s line by combining longer battery life, stronger peak airflow and Matter compatibility, which should simplify integration into existing smart-home setups. Interested buyers in North America can expect the $119.99 model first, with the ion-equipped European and UK version arriving later.
