Chairman Hon. Maroof Akinwande confirmed the fire service crew reached the scene after the building was already on fire and described the conditions they found. He said, “Upon arrival, the crew discovered that the twin-duplex residential building of four- and three-bedroom flats had already been engulfed by flames, with thick smoke billowing from the affected premises. The suspected cause of the fire was an electrical surge.”
