Paid Hyperallergic members will get private in-studio access to seven International Studio & Curatorial Program Ground Floor residents in Brooklyn on September 30, an opportunity to meet artists and hear about their work firsthand.
The event runs 6 - 8pm at ISCP's Ground Floor Studios, 1040 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, 11211. Attendance is limited to Hyperallergic paid members; those already subscribed must sign in to retrieve the registration link, and new attendees must join to reserve a spot. Refreshments will be served.
ISCP, which has operated in New York for more than three decades, has hosted over 2,000 artists and curators from more than 105 countries. This member visit focuses on the program's 2026-27 Ground Floor residents, a group whose practices span photography, painting, performance, installation, sculpture, sound, film, textiles, and social practice.
The participating artists are Frank WANG Yefeng, who works across media from New York and Shanghai and whose practice examines the state of "in-betweenness" tied to a transnational, nomadic life; Zoë Pulley, a Brooklyn-based artist, educator, and designer who uses textiles, writing, and digital media to probe American heritage and everyday Black narratives; and Keli Safia Maksud, an interdisciplinary artist and writer whose installations, sound pieces, and sculptures interrogate space, power, and memory.
Also presenting are Maya Jeffereis, an artist and filmmaker whose video, performance, and installation work pursues overlooked histories and fills archival gaps with counter narratives and speculative fictions; Alicia Grullón, a US-born Dominican conceptual artist who examines presence within political, environmental, and social realms through image-making, performance, and social practice; Erick Hernandez, whose mural-scale figurative paintings draw meaning from temporal settings such as the end of a life, a subway commute, or a waiting room; and Kara Springer, who uses photography, sculpture, and site-specific interventions to investigate armature and the systems of infrastructure that support bodies and structures.
