F-150 buyers will feel stronger low-end pull and get new towing automation after Ford made the EcoBoost twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 the truck’s base engine for 2027. The switch replaces the outgoing twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 while keeping peak output at 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, but peak torque now arrives at 2,250 rpm rather than 3,500 rpm, a change Ford says should make the truck feel peppier and aid towing performance.

Ford also upgraded the F-150’s driver-assistance package, adding BlueCruise with Towing. On more than 130,000 miles of divided highways the system can manage steering, speed, and following distance while a trailer is attached, provided the owner creates a trailer profile. The feature adapts to load weight and trailer-sway detection, is capped at 75 mph, does not allow hands-free lane changes, and will return control to the driver in construction zones. Ford says the towing capability will be included on every 2027 F-150 equipped with BlueCruise and does not increase the price of a BlueCruise subscription.
Exterior updates are subtle, with refreshed grille and wheel designs across XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims. The XLT adopts a simpler two-bar grille and adds a new 20-inch wheel for the Black Appearance package, while the Lariat gets a finer four-bar grille. Platinum receives new 22-inch wheels. Ford also expanded availability of the 5.0-liter V-8, permitting customers to option that engine on King Ranch and Platinum models for the first time since 2023, and the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 and PowerBoost hybrid remain in the lineup.
Ford is trimming prices on its off-road models by offering lower-spec Tremor Low and Raptor Low trims that remove interior and convenience features to cut thousands from the base price. Equipment reductions on the Tremor Low include a simpler steering wheel, manual air conditioning, a six-speaker audio system, and the removal of heated front seats, running boards, and the power sliding rear window. The Raptor Low sheds the head-up display, fog lamps, power passenger seat, power-adjustable steering column, under-seat storage, and downgrades audio and bed power outlets. While Ford did not publish prices for the Low variants, a dealership order guide shows the 2027 Raptor starting at $77,790, down $4,010, and the Tremor at $62,440, down $5,270.
Ford also introduced an F-150 Carhartt edition that adds exterior Carhartt badging and textured graphics, special 20-inch wheels, Tremor headlights and hood, a branded spray-in bedliner, and durable two-tone cloth seats with tan stitching and Carhartt floor mats. The Carhartt package is available on the 4x4 XLT crew cab for an extra $4,195 and can be ordered now, with deliveries beginning early next year. Ford lists the base XL starting at $42,630 and the Platinum at $71,595, and says the rest of the 2027 F-150 lineup should arrive at dealers soon.
