Peacock gains a commercially tested, name-driven title when it begins exclusively streaming Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day on October 9, the streamer said on September 9, 2026. The move takes the movie from its theatrical run into Peacock’s catalogue less than four months after its June 12 release.
The June theatrical release collected $241.3 million at the global box office and received generally favourable notices. The film stars Emily Blunt as a television meteorologist and Josh O’Connor as a whistleblower mathematician, who together try to outpace a powerful shadow organisation accused of hiding decades of evidence of extraterrestrial contact. Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo also appear.
Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment produced the project. David Koepp adapted the screenplay from a story by Spielberg. Executive producers are Adam Somner and Chris Brigham, with Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg credited as producers.
Critic Pete Hammond described Disclosure Day as Spielberg’s “most spiritually moving film in a career that is unmatched in simply making us ask what else is out there, and more importantly why,” and added, “Blunt simply has never been better.” He also wrote that “O’Connor matches her beat for beat.”
Peacock’s announcement makes the service the first authorised home-streaming destination for the title, offering viewers who missed the theatrical release a single authorised option to watch at home. For the streamer, the October 9 debut supplies an immediately promotable release featuring major-name talent and a proven audience, following the film’s midyear box office performance.
The exclusive window marks the next stage of Disclosure Day’s distribution, shifting the film from cinemas to subscription streaming and concentrating home viewing on Peacock from early October.
