Three sisters of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan were detained in Lahore, Imran Khan’s family and officials from his party said, hours before a planned march on Islamabad set for September 27 that seeks the ex‑premier’s release.
Party spokespeople and family members described the detentions as occurring ahead of the protest, but official confirmation so far has been limited. Authorities have confirmed that one of the sisters, Aleema Khan, was ordered to be held for 30 days.
The family and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf officials identified the three women as relatives of the jailed former prime minister and framed the move as taking place in the run-up to the Islamabad demonstration. The march is scheduled to demand Imran Khan’s release.
Beyond the custody order for Aleema Khan, officials have not released further details about charges or the status of the other two sisters, according to the family and party statements. The report was published on 21 September 2026.
