The mayor's office confirmed President Donald Trump will meet Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday at Gracie Mansion, saying the session "will focus on issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers."
Mamdani, 34, is identified in public coverage as a democratic socialist who rose to national prominence after winning New York City's 2025 mayoral election. He has been cast as a leading figure amid a leftward shift in the Democratic Party, and Monday's meeting marks the latest face-to-face between two political adversaries who have repeatedly found themselves in the national spotlight.
