Readers will see nearly 40% faster PDF page turns, but buyers must pay more. Boox unveiled the Note Air6C, a 10.3-inch E Ink tablet that prioritises raw responsiveness with a faster processor and a reworked refresh system, and it goes on sale today in a $580 bundle, a $50 increase over the Air 5C.
The company upgraded the processor to reach up to 2.9GHz, which it says is a 45% clock-speed gain compared with the Note Air 5C. Boox ties that silicon boost to a 40% improvement in PDF page-turn speed. The device also uses a faster refresh mode intended to make scrolling, web browsing and apps with changing content feel more fluid on an E Ink panel.
Software and app access are also part of the upgrade. The Note Air6C runs Android 16 and offers full access to the Google Play Store. The 10.3-inch screen renders black-and-white content at 300 PPI and colour content at 150 PPI. Boox equips the tablet with a four-microphone array for recordings and embeds a fingerprint sensor in the power button to unlock the unit securely.
Hardware choices remain conservative in places. The Note Air6C keeps 6GB of RAM, matching the previous generation. It ships with the Pen3 stylus, which requires no charging or pairing, and retains an adjustable front light, dual speakers and 64GB of built-in storage, with a microSD slot available for expansion.
Boox is selling the tablet in a bundle that includes a folio case and spare stylus tips for $580. A separate bundle that adds a keyboard cover is priced at $690 and is discounted to $657 during the launch period. The Air5C currently retails at $530, making the new Note Air6C a clear price-upgrade rather than a budget refresh.
The Note Air6C reads as an iterative but substantive performance upgrade for E Ink users who want faster navigation and app responsiveness without sacrificing the handwriting features and battery-friendly design typical of the category. Reviewers and buyers will now test whether the speed gains and Android 16 access justify the higher asking price.
