Google's annual Made by Google hardware launch event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, and the company is expected to announce a range of new devices, including new smartphones, smartwatches, and possibly an item tracker. Google has already teased some of the new devices, including new slab-style and foldable Pixel smartphones, and leaks suggest that the company may also announce updated watches, a new color for its earbuds, and a brand new item tracker.
The new smartphones, which are expected to include the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, are likely to be iterative updates, with leaked images suggesting that they will look largely the same as the Pixel 10 lineup. However, they may feature some notable visual differences, including a rainbow glowy light on the camera bar, which Google has already shown off for the Pixel 11 Pro. The company has not yet specified what the light will do, but code in Google's contacts app suggests that it will be called "HiLight" and will be customizable with different colors to indicate when certain people call.
Inside the phones, it is likely that they will be powered by a new Tensor G6 chip, which is rumored to use TSMC's 2nm process, bringing performance and power efficiency gains. If this is the case, the Pixel 11 series will be the first smartphones on the market to use a 2nm chip. Google is also rumored to be raising the starting storage of the base Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro to 256GB, up from the 128GB floor with the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. However, early listings have stated that the Pixel 11 Pro will have 12GB of RAM, down from the 16GB of RAM found in the Pixel 10 Pro lineup.
In addition to the new smartphones, Google is also expected to announce a new smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 5, which has been teased by the company and has appeared in leaked renders. The watch is expected to come in a range of colors, including black, polished silver, yellow gold, and a brass-y color, and will feature a similar design to the Pixel Watch 4. Specs obtained by MyMobiles suggest that the new watch will come in 41 and 45mm screen sizes, with battery life rated at 30 and 40 hours, respectively. The watch will also feature 64GB of storage, double the 32GB of storage available previously.
Google may also launch a new item tracker, called the Pixel Tag, which is expected to be similar to Apple's AirTag. The device has appeared in leaked images, and is expected to have an oval shape, distinguishing it from the circular AirTag. The company may also launch a new color for its earbuds, with an apparent marketing image showing the Pixel Buds Pro 2 in a new olive green color.
