The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI reportedly neutralised nine suspected terrorists and destroyed three carts believed to be carrying weapons and logistics during an air strike in Dumba, Borno State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama said in a statement posted on X that the operation was conducted on Saturday, August 8, following credible intelligence on suspected terrorist activity around the area.
He said the mission was carried out as part of an armed reconnaissance and air interdiction operation.
According to Makama, the aircraft arrived over Dumba at about 2:58 p.m. after intelligence indicated the presence of suspected terrorists.
He said the aircraft detected three suspected terrorists walking along a road and another group of six pushing three carts believed to be laden with weapons and other logistics.
Makama said the aircraft maintained surveillance rather than engaging immediately, tracking both groups until they converged and stopped at a location in the bush.
