Patients and staff at multiple Ontario hospitals could be additional victims after police charged a 34-year-old Burlington woman with 65 offences, and investigators say the probe may widen. The charges follow reports of theft and fraud across several health centres, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Ontario Provincial Police identified the suspect as Nassim Eronn, 34, and say she is accused of offences that began in February 2024 and continued until as recently as last month. The Crown filing lists 34 counts of fraud under $5,000, 13 counts of theft under $5,000 and seven counts of disobeying a court order, along with allegations of breach of trust and impersonation.
OPP detectives started looking into the matter in May after a complaint tied to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. The inquiry was later broadened when investigators uncovered additional incidents at other hospitals where the woman worked. "Multiple search warrants were executed where significant amounts of property were seized," police said.
The investigation covers five healthcare facilities: Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Orillia, between April 2025 and March 2026; Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, between August 2026 and September 2026; Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital in Mississauga, between August 2025 and July 2026; St Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto, between July 2024 and January 2025; and West Park Health Care Centre in Toronto, between February 2024 and April 2024.
Police have not specified the suspect's precise duties at the hospitals. Investigators say they reviewed financial records for suspicious transactions while seeking to identify other potential victims and patterns of offending. Authorities continue to appeal to the public for relevant information as the investigation proceeds.
The charges mark a significant escalation in what began as isolated reports at one hospital, and the investigation remains active. Police expect the probe to determine whether additional charges or victims emerge as they follow financial leads and the evidence seized under warrant.
